This is the beginning to final process for my stop motion 1 character animation.
Meet Steven! He's based on a dear friend who passed away recently and was so full of life that it only felt right to give him some extra time in another form. He only worked out by focusing on his arms and upper body, so I wanted the body to be buff on top and skinny on bottom. In the film, Steven tries roller-skating at a local park in Savannah, GA. Similar to my friend's attitude towards life, I have the character fall and get back up and perform better than ever before.

McCallum was made with a wire armature underneath, and then injected with painted silicone. I designed and constructed his fabric clothing, yarn hair, Vacuu-formed eyeballs, dremeled expression, and custom-cut roller skates from tech decks.
